Action in Sofia, September 2013
The work reflects the daily anti-government demonstrations in Sofia in 2013, which lasted more than three months to the moment of action. A monumental whistle is mounted on the top of a car. By driving the car the makes an unidentifiable sound.
During the demonstrations, among other things, people used whistles to make noise. In this way they emphasized their dissatisfaction with the current situation and fighted for social change. The action heightens this political gesture into an absurd statement. The whistle was delivered to the Municipal Art Gallery, which is only 500 meters away from the government building, and displayed in an exhibition there.
